Working with Dr. Suguru Ishizaki and two other graduate student collaborators, I helped bring rhetorical perspective to a study of how design skills can be used to support engagement projects between the university and local community.
I conducted retrospective interviews with both student and community participants in a joint photography project with the CMU Design School and a local rehabilitation program for homeless women who are recovering from drug addiction, and their children.
I also co-wrote our final report, which we composed into a narrative story, including sketches and multimodal media that detailed our research process.
Findings of this project were presented at the AIGA Design Conference.
